Hi Jacoline, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! I’m always itching to book my next
Disney Vacation Club stay. In fact we just booked our family’s spring break trip for next year and it was easy as 1-2-3! So, let’s talk through how to do just that!
As DVC Members, we can look up availability for DVC Resorts right on
the website! You’ll have to be logged in order to view availability (you’ll want to
contact Member Services if you have not yet created a login to access the website). Once logged in, follow the prompts for the desired travel dates, room type and Resorts and select “Check Availability”. If there is either full or partial availability for any of the DVC Resorts you’re interested in, the website will display that information and you can proceed to booking. For Resorts that only have partial availability, you can book the available nights and
create a Waitlist for the remainder!
If you’re interested in staying at one of the non-DVC Resorts at Walt Disney World using your Vacation Points, that’s known as an exchange into
the Disney Collection. There are separate point charts for
value,
moderate, and
deluxe Resorts. One thing to note about these is that only DVC Members
eligible for Membership Extras can use points towards a non-DVC Resort. You’ll also have to pay a one-time transaction fee (currently $95, although prices are subject to change). In order to go through with this exchange, you’ll have to call Member Services as it cannot be done online.
