Hi Jana, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! Were you hoping to have one extra trip this year? I know as soon as we leave Walt Disney World or Disneyland, we’re immediately looking to book our next trip whether we have the Vacation Points or not! It’s good to know that
Disney Vacation Club offers members the ability to book cash reservations, so let’s talk about how we can go about doing that!
In order to book a
cash reservation at a DVC Resort and receive a discount, you’ll have to
call Member Services. The reservation window for a cash reservation opens 11 months in advance of your check-in date for most Resorts (with the exception of the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, which opens 60 days out). As with all discounts, a cash reservation is subject to availability. But you’ll be happy to know that you can also make this booking for friends and relatives!
Jana, did you know that besides banking and borrowing Vacation Points, we also have the option to purchase
One-Time-Use Points? If you’re considering a cash reservation because you might be short on Vacation Points, just know that you can purchase up to 24 One-Time-Use Points per Use Year in order to complete a reservation. Our family has purchased these in the past when we were short for a last-minute weekend trip and it worked out perfectly!
Jana, I hope this gives you some perspective on what options we have at our disposal. If you have any further questions on getting the most out of your DVC membership, be a pal and
reach out to me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
