Ahoy Carol, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! Going aboard a Disney Cruise is the perfect complement to a Disney Vacation Club stay. Transferring from a DVC villa stay with views of the theme parks to a veranda stateroom looking out in the beautiful sunset is certainly the ideal vacation! Now, let’s dive into your question on booking a Disney Cruise using your Vacation Points!

Carol, I was looking for the specific cruise itinerary you requested, but am having trouble finding a sailing that matches your exact dates. The closest I could find was a sailing on the Disney Fantasy that sails to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral and departs on August 28, 2026 and returns on September 2, 2026. Here is a point chart for that sailing. Note that the points listed are per person based on a double occupancy. The bottom rows show the required amount of points for extra people within your stateroom. If this is not the sailing you’re looking for, here is a link to all other sailings so that you can see how many Vacation Points you’ll need for a cruise!

In order to book a Disney Cruise using your Vacation Points, you’ll need to call Member Services. These types of bookings are known as exchanges into the Disney Collection and here’s some important tidbits about these types of exchanges. First, you need to be eligible for Membership Extras. Second, DVC typically charges a transaction fee for Vacation Point exchanges. Third, the Rule of Four applies to these types of exchanges, which basically means bookings made within your Use Year need to be made prior to the last 4 months of your Use Year. Carol, have you looked into Membership Magic Beyond? One of the many benefits of this optional program, apart from priority access to the lounges and discounted One-Time-Use Points, is that it waives transaction fees for exchanges within the Disney Collection.

Carol, I hope this gives you clarity and the information you need. If you have any further questions on getting the most out of your DVC membership, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
