Hi Lucy,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are so grateful to have friends like you who visit us! It's like we are sharing our favorite tips over a nice cup of coffee or tea. So, cheers!
I should tell you that my preference when traveling from one Walt Disney World Resort hotel to another is always to use a rideshare service like
Minnie Van Service from Lyft. My experience has been that most rides on property are around $30 or less and I can be wherever I would like to go within about 15 minutes.
If you would like to experience official Disney transportation for this journey, here is what I would do:
I would either make the 10-15 minute walk from
Disney's BoardWalk Inn to
Disney's Hollywood Studios, or you could sail there over Crescent Lake on a FriendShip. I would evaluate the weather and decide on the spot. The walk is really lovely most evenings, and the special bench on the back of the FriendShip is a magical place. You can't miss with either decision.
Once you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios, head to the Bus area and find the number for
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The last time I visited, it was Gate 16, but I encourage you to double-check as things change! Then simply hop right on and relax as you journey to New Orleans's historic French Quarter. (Please tell me you are going to try the beignets at
Scat Cat's Club Cafe. They are unforgettable!)
For your return back to Disney's BoardWalk Inn, I would play a little game of "Where am I going?" Simply head to the bus area in front of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. Whichever theme park (or
Disney Springs) bus arrives first, hop on it! Once you arrive at the destination, transfer to a bus bound for Disney's BoardWalk Inn. Then you have truly gone on an adventure!
Lucy, I know you are going to have a beautiful evening no matter how you move about
Walt Disney World Resort. Please come on back and let us know how else we can help you plan your incredible vacation.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Sally
