Marshall,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
I ho-ho-hope you have a great time at
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
Do you see what I did there? Yeah, I bet you get that all the time!
But can you wear a full-blown, professional Santa Claus costume to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party? While Disney does not state anywhere definitively that you cannot, there are several very specific
rules that suggest that no, you cannot. One of these is that guests may dress as their favorite character during the event, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other guests. If you go dressed as Santa Claus, you are sure to attract this kind of attention, even if it was not your intent. They also state that adults may not wear costumes in the theme parks. These rules incline me to think that you won’t be allowed to, even if they won’t proactively give you a no response.
Of course, you are welcome to try. But I am fairly confident that they would ask you to change, and I think I understand that the confusion that would be caused would be their reasoning.
BONUS TIPWhen I go to these parties, I often do what is called Disney Bounding. This is wearing an outfit inspired by a character. For example, I have some yellow tennis shoes, a pair of red shorts, and a black golf shirt. The results? An instant homage to Mickey Mouse! You certainly could break out some Santa-inspired duds and enjoy the spirit of the evening.
I hope you have a great time at the party and let that Santa spirit from within you shine out to all!
Have a Magical Vacation!
