Rachel,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Figuring out how to see it all is a tough one, right?
But remember, there is more to do and see at Walt Disney World than you could possibly experience on a single trip. For you, it should be about seeing what will make for magical memories this time around, knowing that Walt Disney World will always be there for a return trip, if it is in the cards, with new experiences you have never seen!
With three days, I would suggest the following.
- Use one park day to visit both Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and EPCOT. You will need to have park hopper tickets, but the extra charge will be worth it. Visit the Animal Kingdom in the morning, and EPCOT in the evening. I find that the Animal Kingdom is worth planning for your trip. While you probably don't want to spend a whole day there, it has a lot of great things to see, and it is still a favorite for my girls to this day, even as teenagers!
- Use one day to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios
- Use one day to visit the Magic Kingdom. But you will want to do this on a day when the park does not host Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, as you would have to leave at 6 pm. Or, if it is in your budget, still go to the Magic Kingdom but get that special event ticket, on the 14th, which at this time is still not sold out. The double benefit for you is that the park will have lighter crowds during the day, and then the party will have all those special activities.
So if you are open to the added expense, I would go to the Magic Kingdom on the 14th, with the special ticket event. Then I would go to Hollywood Studios on the 15th, and end with the Animal Kingdom and EPCOT on the 16th. You start with a bang and end with EPCOT, whose evening show is always a hit.
If you want to skip that extra ticket cost, I would then switch my first and last days, ending with a full day at the Magic Kingdom on the 16th.
BONUS TIPIf you are going to go to the Christmas party, I would buy those tickets as soon as possible. the parties all sell out, and yours could be gone if you don't hurry!
