Heya Josh!
Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for visiting us with your Disney World planning question today. My kids love using
Lightning Lane passes to skip the stand by queue on some of our favorite attractions... and I'm sure you will, too! Using Lightning Lane lets you pack even more pixie-dust into your park days. Woo hoo!
It's very exciting that you plan to stay on property at a Disney Resort. Excellent choice. And I hope you get to see the ocean when you head out to Tampa. Another excellent choice. When my family visits Disney World from Colorado, we love to combine our magical Disney time with a little nature time at the ocean!
One of the
perks of staying at a Disney Resort, is that you will be able to make your Lightning Lane purchases earlier than off site guests, starting 7 days before your check-in date at 7:00 am Eastern Time. You'll want to log on to your
My Disney Experience app early for the best selection!
If I understand your proposed itinerary correctly, you'll be making your Lightning Lane purchases for the two legs of your Disney trip, on two different eligibility dates. So your first eligibility window will open up one week prior, on a Thursday. At that time, you can make Lightning Lane purchases for the first leg - your Friday and Saturday park days. Your second eligibility window will open up one week prior, on Sunday. Then you'll be able to purchase passes for that second leg - your Monday and Tuesday park days.
My top tip if using a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, is to make sure you've got at least one selection with an early morning time. As soon as you tap into that attraction, you can immediate open the My Disney Experience app and select another experience! And the cool thing is, those same-day additional passes can be selected from any of the tiers/groups. It's a great way to maximize your value!
I hope you have a magical vacation, Josh! If I can help with any other park, dining, or resort recommendations please
visit me again at planDisney.
The magic is calling!
