Hi Kay! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
We just got back from a quick visit to the Disneyland Resort, during which I made use of a convenient
Disney Gift Card, which I'd been gifted during the holidays. They make the best gifts! I applied my card toward Quick Service meal purchases, merchandise, and even shipping to get a helmet back home from a galaxy far, far away.
If you're looking to gift your card to someone else by sharing it or sharing a balance while exploring the parks independently, I think that's a fantastic idea! However, you can't share directly from your mobile device's wallet. But I've got some solutions to this problem for you, which I'm happy to share.
You can share the card in a few different ways. You have the ability to
transfer the funds from your card to an eGift or physical card they already own using the Disney Gift Card website. You can transfer all or just some of those funds. To do so, add both your card and theirs to your account and transfer the funds. Alternatively, share a screenshot of your eGift card with the recipient. Saving the screenshot to favorites will make it easier to find when it comes time to use it, and the screenshot should still scan at the register if the barcode is clearly displayed. I've used this method when sharing with my favorite teen while she explored the park separately from the group. Lastly, if you have the email that was sent to you with the link to add to your Apple Wallet, you can forward the email to the recipient. That way, they can save the card directly to their device, which will also allow sharing the single balance.
Did you know Disneyland Resort receipts show the balance on your Disney Gift Card? That helps keep track of your spending throughout a fun park day!
I hope this helps.
