Hey, Josh. Welcome to
planDisney. Man, this sounds like a tough situation. Let’s explore some options and see if we can get this trip back on track, so we can focus on soaking up the magic.
If you purchased tickets through the
Disneyland website or the
Disneyland Mobile App, you may have already chosen dates. Let’s check that before we go any further. I went to the
Theme Park Reservation Availability page and looked up the arrival date you listed, May 26th, and it seems like there are reservations available. I’m guessing you got that message, maybe because you already made a reservation. On the mobile app, press the (☰) in the bottom right corner and scroll down to “My Plans.” If you made reservations, they’d be listed there. If you’re on the Disneyland website, log in and hover over “My Disneyland,” and click “My Plans.” If they are not there, let’s go on to step two.
Disneyland Resort sets aside a certain number of reservations each day for guests purchasing tickets. When the reservations are full, they’re full. I suggest checking back daily to see if you can modify your reservation to the date you’re hoping for. I understand it’s a bit of a gamble, but typically, guests make reservations and, for whatever reason, cancel as they approach the date. I have used this approach to get a reservation as close as the night before the date I was hoping for.
Now, it sort of comes down to what you’re comfortable with. I’d start checking every day and see how it goes. You have a little over three weeks until your arrival date. While you’re more likely to see a reservation open closer to your date since guests will wait to cancel until the last minute, I can see how you’d feel uncomfortable waiting to see if a reservation becomes available. You’re more than welcome to
call the ticket line to speak to a friendly cast member to see if there is anything they can do to help.
You are coming at a busy time, just after Memorial Day. Also, did you know that the new
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run mission is launching into action on May 22nd? This may also be why there is a lack of reservations. This new mission will feature Mando and Grogu, which coincides with the release of the new film!
Josh, I hope this all works out for you. I know the uncertainty can be stressful, but if it all works out, the day will be magical from beginning to end. If you have any other questions or just need planning tips, come right back to
planDisney. We’re here for you.
I hope you have a magical day.
