Hi there, Steve! Welcome back to planDisney!
December is my favorite time to visit
Walt Disney World Resort. That might have a bit to do with the fact that December is my birthday month, but it's also because
the holiday season at The Most Magical Place on Earth truly is the most wonderful time of the year! We're starting to hear some
details about this year's holiday celebrations, but I recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog for all of the latest news about December activities and offerings as they are announced. Now let's chat about what we already know about this year's holiday happenings.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be making its return to
Magic Kingdom Park on select nights throughout the holiday season. As a new addition for this year,
Disney's Hollywood Studios will also be hosting a special ticketed event called
Disney Jollywood Nights.
Tickets for both of these special events are currently on sale. The
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will also be returning this year, and this event is included with your regular admission to EPCOT.
When it comes to holiday restaurant specials,
Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar in
Disney Springs is the place to be. During the holiday season, the bar is transformed with fun and festive holiday decor and some special menu items. If you're looking for character dining,
Hollywood & Vine hosts a holiday-themed dinner party with Minnie Mouse and her friends. Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as it gets closer to the holiday season for more information on special limited-time dining offerings.
During a December visit to Walt Disney World Resort, I love to just take in all of the holiday sights and sounds. All four theme parks are beautifully decorated, at Disney Springs you can enjoy the Christmas Tree Stroll, and don't forget about the
Disney Resorts Collection. All of the resort hotels are decked out in their holiday finest.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite places to visit during the holiday season. The lobby is so cozy! I also recommend stopping by
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The holiday decor here is gorgeous, especially the life-sized gingerbread house!
Steve, I'm certain that your visit to Walt Disney World Resort this December will be nothing short of magical! If you have any other questions as you plan for your trip, please don't hesitate to ask. Happy holidays!
Samantha
