A very warm welcome to planDisney, Joanne! I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m excited to help you plan your magical trip! While there are no official
Disney airport transfers from any Florida airport, there are plenty of convenient options available to make your journey to Walt Disney World Resort as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Let’s walk through some of the options to consider.
First, it’s worth noting that both Melbourne International Airport and Tampa International Airport are about the same distance from Walt Disney World, as this may offer you additional flight options. Both airports provide similar transportation options, so you’ll have plenty of choices to get to your Disney home away from home. You can find a list of trusted transfer operators on each airport’s website to give you peace of mind when booking transportation.
Both airports offer taxis and popular ride-sharing options like Uber and Lyft. These services are readily available and can be a hassle-free way to travel directly to your resort. Plus, the ride-sharing apps allow you to track your driver, estimate costs, and even choose your vehicle type, which can be especially helpful after a long flight.
If you prefer flexibility and independence, renting a car is a fantastic option. We have made the straightforward drive from Tampa International Airport to Walt Disney World Resort. Having your own car means you can come and go as you please, without waiting for transportation. Plus, Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels enjoy the added benefit of free parking at their resort and throughout the Disney theme parks - a great perk. Depending on your Disney Resort hotel choice, having your own vehicle might make navigating the wider Walt Disney World area even more convenient. While I love using Disney buses and experiencing the unique
Disney Skyliner and Monorail, having my own car is a great alternative, especially for those early-morning park openings or late-night departures!
If you fly into Orlando International Airport, there’s also the option of using services like Mears Connect, a shared shuttle service to and from Walt Disney World. This service does not operate out of Tampa or Melbourne International Airport.
Joanne, I hope this information helps you feel more confident and excited about your travel plans! No matter which option you choose, I’m sure your journey will be filled with anticipation for all the magic that awaits you at Walt Disney World. Happy planning, and please know that we’re always here at
planDisney if you have any more questions or need further help.
Wishing you a magical adventure!
