Hi Becky!
I am excited to see a fellow Tennessean here at planDisney. Walt Disney World Resort is the most magical place on earth for a birthday. You all will have a blast celebrating there.
Before your child is 3 years old, they will not need to have a ticket. There is no need to add them to the entire meal plan and ticket plan that you all are purchasing. You will be good with a ticket only to Magic Kingdom on the day of their birthday! The other fun thing about being younger than 3 years old is that you also eat free at all-you-care-to-eat buffets and restaurants. My favorite restaurants to take advantage of this perk also happen to feature some of your favorite characters.
'Ohana is a magical breakfast location where you get to dance with your pals from Lila and Stitch while dining on pineapple bread and other breakfast favorites.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a great place to connect with princesses and dine on Norwegian and American favorites.
Since you will be celebrating, I also recommend stopping by
Guest Services to get a celebration button so that every cast member and guest you pass that day knows that you are celebrating something special! You will be told "Happy Birthday" more times than you can count and it makes that day feel extra special for little ones who think it is magic that everyone knows it is their birthday. Disney World also offers
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cakes that can be added to your dining reservation emblazoned with "Happy Birthday." These cakes are some of the best-tasting cakes I have ever had and everyone in your party will enjoy them.
Happy Planning
Jenna
