Hello, can my 11 year old daughter wear the x wing pilot helmet in the parks? I am seeing conflicting information. Thank you!

Hi, Amanda, and welcome to planDisney! I'm delighted to hear that you have a well-deserved vacation at Walt Disney World Resort in your future, and as a fellow Star Wars fan, I'm here to help clarify the rules around attire in the parks. Grab that lightsaber, and let's dive right in!

For any Star Wars aficionado, it's pretty much mandatory to spend some time in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios. The theming is really incredible, and it takes me right back to my 80's childhood to see the Millennium Falcon and other iconic aspects of the franchise brought to life! Any time our family visits, we always plan to experience both attractions in Galaxy's Edge - Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - and visit the Milk Stand to enjoy a blue or green milk!

Amanda, the Walt Disney World Park Rules state that children under age 14 may wear costumes in the theme parks. While they don't speak specifically to helmets, they do mention masks, stating that masks may not cover the entire face, cannot obstruct peripheral vision, and must allow the eyes to be visible. The X-Wing helmet should be OK in this circumstance, especially if the visor is able to be flipped up for better vision. However, this may be open to interpretation based on Cast Member discretion. My best advice is to bring the helmet, be polite to the Cast Members, and be open to the possibility that your daughter may only be able to wear it for photo opportunities - which will result in some GREAT pictures!

I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, and that your family has an incredible time on your vacation! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, and please come see us again if we can help with any other questions to make your vacation practically perfect - or defeat the First Order!

May the Force be with you...
