Walt Disney World Resort vacation planned for the holiday season, and I'll be happy to lend a helping hand with some details about transportation from Orlando International Airport to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Although you sadly can't hop a magic carpet to travel from the airport, there are plenty of options to get you where you need to go.
Minnie Van Service, which is a popular dedicated ride service operated by Walt Disney World, has been around for some time, and you'll see these polka-dotted vehicles out and about during your vacation. The service expanded to MCO about a year ago for Guests staying in Deluxe and Deluxe Villa accommodations
only. Because you will now be traveling from the airport to a Value resort, you will not be able to use Minnie Van to get to
Disney's Pop Century Resort.
But don't fret, Tristan! Guests arriving at MCO can take Mears Connect, which is a shuttle that travels directly from MCO to the Disney resorts. You can choose between Standard and Express routes - the Express shuttles make fewer stops and have a shorter wait. Bookings can be made from their site, and it's easy to modify if you need to make any changes. I took Mears when I was traveling last year and it was reasonably priced, comfortable, and convenient! One thing to be aware of is that if you're using Mears to return to the airport at the end of your trip, the scheduled pickup is usually several hours before your flight.
Another great option for your airport transfer is rideshare. I visited Walt Disney World back in May and my arrival coincided with a couple of other pals, so we called a Lyft and were on our way to our resort in no time! There are usually plenty of drivers in the vicinity of the airport so waits are minimal.
