Any word yet on whether the skyliner will be down for refurbishment in January 2024? My family of 5 is staying there solely for the skyliner and if it’s going to close like last year, we will move and don’t want to miss out on any of the current promos!

    Hi Alysia, welcome to planDisney!

I often stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort or Disney’s Art of Animation Resort so I know how convenient it is to have direct access to the Disney Skyliner!  I find traveling by an aerial gondola to be peaceful and relaxing and the views from above are spectacular!

At this time, no information is available on when/if the Disney Skyliner will undergo refurbishment during your vacation.  However, I can tell you from personal experience, that refurbishment took place at the end of January for the last two years during my Walt Disney World vacation when I was staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort.   Specifically, the scheduled refurbishment dates were as follows:

    2023: January 22-January 29
    2022: January 23-January 28

I would also like to mention there are times when the Disney Skyliner will close unexpectedly due to weather conditions in the area.  You may receive an alert on your My Disney Experience App when this occurs if you are staying at a resort with direct access to the Disney Skyliner.   The good news is, that bus transportation is available whenever the Disney Skyliner is not operational.

Alysia, I hope you find this information helpful as you plan your magical Walt Disney World vacation!  Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist you with.
