Kevin, welcome back to planDisney. It is serendipity that you are asking this question because a few panelists and I were just talking about it last night. Here is what you need to know.
Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets and
Special Event Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, if you have an issue with your attending your Special Event then it is possible to have that ticket saved in your
My Disney Expereince account to be applied to a
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or to a
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in the future. Unfortunately, it may not be applied to a standard theme park ticket or to a
Walt Disney World Annual Pass. If the future cost of the new special event ticket is more than the original cost then you will need to pay the difference. If the future ticket is less than the original cost then it will be an even swap without a refund of the difference.
planDisney Pro Tip: If you are going to visit a special event during a year you hold an annual pass, be sure to purchase the annual pass before the special event ticket to take advantage of the special event ticket
annual passholder benefits and discount.
Kevin, I am so glad you stopped by with your question as we at planDisney are ready to help with any Disney vacation planning tips. Please feel free to
write me back directly with any follow-up questions.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
