My whole family (5 adults and 7 kids) are going to Disneyland in October. We have reservations for Disneyland on the 20th. It is our Daughter’s 40th birthday. I want to do something special for her. Any suggestion?

Welcome to planDisney, Jenny! Thank you so much for sharing this very special question with us and please allow me to wish your daughter a Very Merry Unbirthday on behalf of all of us!

Your question really spoke to me because we've recently celebrated a 40th birthday in my family and I'd love to share some of the unique ways to honor this exciting milestone in 'The Happiest Place on Earth!' First, I always recommend that Guests pick up a complimentary celebration button, which can be found at most merchandise locations, Guest Relations, and the Disneyland Resort hotel properties. It's a fun way to announce your celebration to fellow Guests and Cast Members and you never know what kind of happy wishes it might grant! Plus, it makes for a lovely souvenir of your time together. My second recommendation is to make a special dining reservation at a table service dining location that your daughter might love. In my opinion, some of the best locations for a celebratory meal include Lamplight Lounge in Disney California Adventure Park or Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland Park. And, these dining locations are on the list of participating restaurants to which a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake can be delivered.

Jenny, I also love choosing a personalized gift to commemorate a special occasion like a 40th birthday milestone! Your daughter might enjoy a customized piece of glassware at Crystal Arts or Cristal d'Orleans in Disneyland Park or even a personalized character sketch by a Disney artist, which can be found at several locations across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. One of my favorites is Disneyana, right on Main Street, U.S.A. because I love the nostalgia of some of the original art and collectibles on display in the gallery. And speaking of personalization, you can't go wrong with a hand-painted item from Plaza Point or a custom-embroidered hat or pair of ears from the Mad Hatter on Main Street, U.S.A.

I really hope this is a helpful set of suggestions, Jenny. Most of all, I wish you and your family a truly memorable trip to Disneyland Resort full of unforgettable, magical moments together.
