Hi, we've already booked our upcoming trip but would like to extend our stay and add a few days. Is this possible? Are we able to see the estimated cost?

Hi Loria, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. The only thing better than a Disney vacation is figuring out a way to stay as long as possible! So, let’s chat about how to add a few extra magical days to your stay.

If you booked directly through Disney World, you should be able to modify your reservation in the My Plans section of the website. Scroll down to your booking and click the Change Reservation button. On the next page, you can change details like the dates, room type, and resort hotel (subject to availability), as well as the travel party. You’ll be able to review the revised price before confirming any changes.

Alternatively, you can call the Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone number, and a Cast Member would be happy to check availability and let you know the cost for the extra nights.

If your resort hotel is fully booked for the additional nights, you might consider staying at a second resort hotel for the second part of your vacation. I love “split stays” because you get to experience the unique theming at two different resort hotels. Some of my favorites are seeing beloved films come to life at Art of Animation Resort and spending the night on an African savannah at Animal Kingdom Lodge! It can also be a great way to strategically stay closer to certain theme parks. My family loves to stay at Caribbean Beach Resort when we’re planning to visit EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and Wilderness Lodge when we’re heading to Magic Kingdom.

And don’t miss any of the complimentary perks that you get as a Disney Resort hotel guest! One of my favorites is Early Theme Park Entry, where you can get into the parks 30 minutes before regular park opening. It’s a great way to get a head start on checking off any must-do attractions when the wait times are shorter.

You’ll also be able to make reservations for dining and Enchanting Extras 60 days before check-in for your entire length of stay (up to a 10-night stay) and buy Lightning Lane Passes seven days before check-in for your whole stay (up to 14 days). This makes it easier to book hard-to-get reservations like the new Beak and Barrel lounge at Magic Kingdom!

I hope you have a pixie-dusted stay at Disney World and get a few extra days in the magic! If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
