I went to Disneyland on April 25-26, 2023. Today is May 6. Is it too late to convert my passes to an annual pass? I didn’t realize I could do this until yesterday. Thanks.

    Hi there, Tim!

I’d be happy to offer information about how a regular theme park ticket can be upgraded to a Disneyland Resort Magic Key pass.

To check if your park ticket can be upgraded to a Magic Key pass, open the Disneyland mobile app and navigate to the ☰ feature menu. From there, tap on Tickets and Passes to find your theme park ticket. If the ticket isn’t already linked in the app, tap the ‘+’ button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and then tap “Link Tickets & Passes” to begin the process of linking a valid ticket. Below the ticket barcode and number, a section about applying the value of the ticket toward a Magic Key pass may be present. If you see the “Upgrade to a Magic Key Pass” button, tap it to proceed with the upgrade, including verifying your name and address and entering payment information.

It’s important to complete a ticket upgrade while the ticket is still valid. A ticket is valid until its expiration date listed on the ticket purchase confirmation email, or until 13 days after the first day of use of a multi-day ticket, or until midnight on the day of use for the last of the number of days for which the ticket is valid. An exception would be for a wholly unused ticket that has already expired. In the case of an unused, expired ticket, you may take the ticket to a Disneyland Resort ticket booth to upgrade it to a Magic Key pass.

If your ticket was a 2-day ticket and you already used both days of the ticket last month, unfortunately, it may be too late to upgrade it to a Magic Key pass. But if you purchased a 3-, 4-, or 5-day ticket and haven’t yet used the remaining days of the ticket and it has not yet been thirteen days since the first use, you may still be able to upgrade your ticket.

I’m excited to hear from another Beehive State resident who is interested in joining the Magic Key holder family. When fellow Utahns ask about my Disneyland Magic Key magnet on my car, I enjoy sharing with them how nice it is to use my pass to visit The Happiest Place on Earth more frequently. So far, I’ve been able to use my current pass a half-dozen times. With several months to go before it expires, I hope to use the pass a few more times yet. Whether you become a Magic Key holder by upgrading this latest ticket, by upgrading a new ticket, or by purchasing a new pass directly, I hope you enjoy your visits to the Disneyland Resort, Tim!
