Hi there, Sherri! That’s a good question. I am both a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder and a Disneyland Resort Magic Key holder. I love maximizing the magic of my passes on both coasts.Fortunately, Disney often reevaluates and updates passholder benefits for both Annual Passholders and Magic Key holders. One of those recent changes was to relax Disney Park Pass requirements for visits after 2:00 PM in most cases. The Annual Pass program and the Magic Key program do still have some differences. At the Disneyland Resort, Magic Key holders must still book theme park reservations, even for visits later in the day. To stay up-to-date on any modifications to the Magic Key program that may occur, I recommend these resources:
Tony’s Tip: Because the number of theme park reservations for a given day is limited, you may occasionally find that reservations become unavailable. If you have your heart set on visiting on a date that appears to have run out of reservations, don’t give up hope! Just last week, my family was visiting Southern California and wanted to spend one extra day at the Disneyland Resort. Although reservations had previously been fully booked up on the day we were looking to go, we still found that some reservations became available at the last minute for us! My recommendation is to keep checking the Magic Key Access Calendar. You never know what will pop up as other Magic Key holders need to change their plans. I have found that the evening before a given day is an especially common time for other passholders to cancel their existing reservations.I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Sherri!~Tony
