Welcome Home, Samantha! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. It's the best day ever whenever I get to chat with a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member. You've got a friend in me, and I'm here to help make your fall getaway to
Walt Disney World Resort as magical as can be!
I'm so excited that you'll get to experience
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort this fall. This new addition to the DVC portfolio offers unique accommodations in a beautiful forest oasis. I always enjoy taking a water taxi from Fort Wilderness to
Magic Kingdom Park for a peaceful start to the day, and this wooded resort is a perfect spot to come "Home" to after a day in the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.
The new cabins sleep up to 6 adults, featuring a Queen bed, a Queen pull-down bed, and a bunk bed. I spoke to several Cast Members and no one had an exact weight limit for the top bunk. I was told that an "average adult" would be able to sleep in the top bunk with no issue--as a nurse, I went straight to the CDC, which classifies "average" as individuals weighing between 170-200 pounds.
Samantha, I also heard from some other planDisney pals who reported that they have slept in the top bunk at the existing (non-DVC) Fort Wilderness Cabins and found them quite sturdy. If you have any concerns about the bunk, it's good to know that a Guest may sleep on an air mattress in the cabin as long as you are within the 6-person occupancy.
During your October vacation, Walt Disney World will be fully decked out for spooky season! One of our family's favorite character experiences can be found at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, where Minnie Mouse hosts a Halloween-themed lunch and dinner at
Hollywood & Vine. It's a great buffet meal and the Character photo opportunities are so much fun!
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Samantha! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please
reach out anytime if I can help with any other questions about all things DVC and Walt Disney World.
Stay Magical!
Susan
