Hey there, Traci--we meet again! I'm so glad you followed up with another excellent question for planDisney, and it's my pleasure to help you with the information you're looking for. Your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner and I am sure you're getting excited!
One of our family's favorite perks of any Walt Disney World getaway is the access to complimentary, convenient transportation. The latest episode of the
planDisney podcast was such a good one--my pals Lizzie and Nimmy did a deep dive on all of the available ways to get around!
One of the water transportation options is the
Sassagoula River Cruise, which connects
Disney's Old Key West Resort,
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and
Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter and
Port Orleans - Riverside Resorts to
Disney Springs. Unfortunately, this boat route is currently not running due to low water levels in the canals. I spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that the Orlando area has not had much rain recently so the service is still unavailable. However, the rainy season is right around the corner, so you may be back in business by the time you arrive in mid-June!
In the meantime, the resorts affected will offer bus service to Disney Springs, as well as the theme parks and water parks. To check the bus schedules right from the
My Disney Experience app, navigate to the section for your Resort Hotel, where the Bus Times feature will let you know when the next bus is scheduled to arrive at Old Key West. It's helpful when you're heading out for the day, as well as when you're starting to think about returning to your accommodations in the evening!
Traci, keep the questions coming--we're happy to help however we can! Thanks for making a return trip to planDisney, and don't hesitate to
reach out directly if I can help with any other questions.
Welcome Home!
Susan
