Can I wear Jedi robes, bought in galaxy’s edge florida, in galaxy’s edge or does this break the costumes rule (I’m a 37 year old male Star Wars fan)

    Bright Suns, John.

Welcome to planDisney! The Force is strong with this question, and on this side of the galaxy we love a Star Wars fan who is committed enough to even consider wearing a Jedi robe through Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World. Your desire to show loyalty to the Jedi Order is admirable, and should be recognized. However, even Master Yoda must follow Disney’s Property Rules which state that costumes cannot be worn in the theme parks by guests ages 14 and older. While you will not be able to don your beloved Jedi attire inside Hollywood Studios, I do have some good news to share: you have alternative options.

Your first option would be to bound your way through Batuu. Guests of any age are allowed to wear articles of clothing inspired by their favorite characters - this is officially called bounding. More information on bounding and what’s allowed by the Jedi council (and Disney Security) can be found on the Disney Parks Blog here.

Your second option might be just as fun as bounding, maybe even more if you’re a fan of Halloween. There is one exception to Disney’s Property Rules that will allow adult guests to wear costumes: attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. All guests attending this separate ticketed event during the spooky season are allowed to wear costumes (yes, even adults). This party only happens inside Magic Kingdom, so unfortunately you will not be able to wear your phenomenal Jedi duds in Batuu if you choose this option, but you will still have a chance to show your allegiance to the Rebellion during your visit since you’ll be arriving in October.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is happening on select evenings through October 31. Rebel spies report that tickets for this event will likely sell out before the summer gets under way, so you may want to give this option some dutiful consideration soon.

John, I hope this information has proven useful for you. If you have any additional questions about your next galactic visit, please do not hesitate to return to the planDisney universe for answers.

    Yours in the Force,
