HI Moms, Will be at WDW in 6 wks! I unknowingly scheduled our day at Epcot on the first day of the F&W Festival. When would be the best time with less crowds to be there? We will be spending most of our time in Future World with lunch at Le Cellier.

    Kelly,

Your suspicions are right. That first weekend at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival really packs in some large crowds. But that is the sign that it is a GREAT event, filled with fantastic food, drink, and entertainment. Many regular visitors are jealous of you that you get to be there during such a wonderful event!

That first weekend it is just going to be busy. No way to get around that. For that specific day, focus on non-standard dining hours, like 2 pm - 4 pm, to visit the World Showcase. People want to eat at typical dining times. The crowds will still be heavy, but a bit less so than at the 5 pm - 7 pm time.

Also, if you can return to Epcot later in your trip on a Tuesday or a Wednesday, you will find slightly lower crowds. The weekends are the real heavy times for that event, so you might get a bit of a crowd reprieve if you have some flexibility in your schedule.

I hope that this helps? Write me back if you have any follow-up questions.

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
