Hello,
Welcome to
planDisney Heather! We would like to thank you for stopping by with this question about the holiday fireworks display. Having a plan and location to be comfortable in to watch is important.
Visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort for any holiday is a great time. For our nation’s birthday, there is always a celebration to be had.
Magic Kingdom Park has some of the best fireworks I’ve ever ever witnessed in my life, and the holiday show is usually a little bit more patriotic. Folks pack in to the park for a chance to catch a glimpse of this wonderful display.
Lots of guests will be staying at one of the monorail resorts to witness the show in the sky. Some even have dinner reservations so that they can enjoy the show while they are dining. Disney will be limiting access during the holiday weekend to make sure there is enough parking and amenities for guests staying at the hotels to enjoy. Guests without a hotel reservation will need to have either a dining reservation, or recreation reservation to access the property. These guests will only be allowed access two hours before the scheduled reservation or recreation time to visit the resort.
If you are planning on visiting Magic Kingdom Park on the Fourth of July, make sure you head there early. Sometimes on holidays, Disney can reach capacity so the earlier you arrive the better. If you do decide to visit on that day, I would normally say to find a spot about an hour ahead of the show. But since it is a holiday weekend, I wouldn’t think being an hour and a half ahead of time is a bad thing. If you are with a group, you can split up and get some snacks. One of my favorite locations to watch from is in front of
Casey’s Corner. You can grab some hotdog nuggets or even head across the street to
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor for two scoops.
I know this isn't the information you were expecting. Hoping you can find a reservation with a spot to watch these wonderful fireworks celebrating our nation’s birth. Happy 4th of July!
Have a magical day!
