Hello there, Julie-Anne!
Thanks for coming back with another great question. As you have probably heard, changes were recently implemented for Disability Access Service (DAS) at both
Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. I'd be happy to outline the adjustments, so let's dive in!
As of May 20, 2024, the registration process moved to a virtual chat with specially trained Cast Members. I detailed the
registration process for US-based visitors for another guest earlier this week, but since you're an international visitor your experience will be a bit different. You'll need to wait until you've arrived to access the virtual chat. This can be done via the
US-based DAS website linked here, but don't worry if you won't have a laptop or mobile device available on your upcoming trip. Cast Members at Guest Services locations are no longer part of the approval team, but they will be happy to provide you with a device to complete your chat.
Previously, US guests were able to make up to 2 advance DAS selections between 2-30 days before their arrival. This process has also changed and guests are now able to self-select DAS return times via the My Disney Experience Mobile App on the day of their visit. Be sure to download the app once you've arrived to gain access to the appropriate services. I'd also like to mention that the party size has changed to include the DAS-eligible guest plus three additional guests. If you've used DAS on visits this is important to keep in mind.
There are many accommodations available in addition to DAS. If Cast Members feel your travel party will be better served through alternate means they will outline the options available to you. You can
review this helpful document outlining the many services and accommodations available as you count down to your next trip so you're prepared to ask questions, as needed.
I hope this was helpful, Julie-Anne. If we can answer any additional questions please come right back to planDisney and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
