Emma from JP-13 Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi! We are visiting WDW from today and staying at Coronado Springs tonight. We want to go super early to Hollywood Studios (before 8 am) so the shuttle bus won’t be an option. Do we call a taxi from the hotel front? Also are taxis better than Ubers/Lyfts?

    Bright Suns, Emma!

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I'm hoping my answer reaches you in time for your early morning adventures at Disney's Hollywood Studios. As Jyn Erso famously reminds us in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, "Rebellions are built on hope."

In my experience, the complimentary resort transportation always gets me where I need to be in time for park opening. Buses typically begin running 45 min before park opening (though I've seen them start even earlier at times), and since they have their own dedicated entrance at the parks, they bypass any lines at the parking toll plaza. It looks like Disney's Hollywood Studios has a scheduled opening of 9 am today, with Early Entry for resort guests beginning at 8:30 am. I'd expect buses to start running from the resorts by 7:45 am this morning (or a bit earlier), so I'd plan to be on the first bus pickup if possible.

If you happen to miss the bus (be sure to check estimated arrival times in your My Disney Experience app), you can certainly rely on a taxi or rideshare service to drive you to Hollywood Studios. I've used rideshare services on many occasions and found the wait time, travel time, and pricing to be reasonable. Keep in mind there may be lines as the morning crowds head in, but your driver will be directed to a dedicated drop-off area near the bus loops once you arrive.

Emma, I hope this helps you get your day off to a magical start. If you have additional questions, please come back to planDisney and let us know. You can also use the chat feature in the My Disney Experience app or speak to Cast Members on site for any urgent needs.

May the Force be with you,
    Amy
