Hello! I am visiting Disneyland Park soon. I have MagicBand+ for Walt Disney World. Can I use my band at Disneyland as well? Do I have to unlink or deactivate it from My Disney Experience app first and then link it to Disneyland app? Thank you!

    Hey there, Elizabeth!

Welcome to planDisney and it's so nice to be hearing from you again! I'm sorry that we were "unavoidably detained by pranky spirits" and were not able to get to your question before your arrival date. Nevertheless, I love welcoming Walt Disney World Resort veterans to the Disneyland Resort. There's just something special about visiting Walt's original Park and knowing that he had a direct hand in its design.

You will absolutely be able to use your MagicBand+ at the Disneyland Resort. At this time, that is the only type of MagicBand that is supported here. A MagicBand+ may only be linked to one account and one ticket at a time. I recently had to move a MagicBand+ that had been linked to a Walt Disney World Resort ticket over to my Disneyland account. I've heard conflicting reports about this, but what ultimately worked for me was to unlink the Band from the My Disney Experience App before linking it to my Disneyland account. In my particular case, I did not need to deactivate it before linking it in the Disneyland Mobile App

I love the variety of choices available to MagicBand+ shoppers, especially the designs that are specific to the Disneyland Resort! If you have extra time to spend in Galaxy's Edge, get some steps in by collecting bounties in Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters. I love getting immersed in my own Star Wars story and even wrote a step by step instruction manual for the game.

Fun Fact: Alice in Wonderland is an attraction that is unique to Disneyland Park. It debuted on June 14, 1958 and has been refurbished in 1984 and 2014. It was the Park's first two level attraction and most of the ride occurs directly above Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. In fact, if there's a section of Alice that seems particularly warm to you, try taking a drive through Toad Hall and you might see why (remember that heat rises)!

Elizabeth, I hope that you have a truly magical trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! Please come by anytime if you have further questions because we'd love to hear from you again. Until next time!

“So hurry back, we would like your company.”

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
