Kelly from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello! My family is going to WDW next week and I have heard that you can do some Bounty hunting in Batuu at the Disneyland resort. Can you tell me more about bounty hunting and if they have this feature at Hollywood Studios as well?

Bright Suns, Kelly, and may the Force be with you!

Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for submitting your application for entry into the Batuu Bounty Hunter's Guild. After careful consideration, we are pleased to offer you admission to this exclusive group! After arriving on planet, Guildmaster Raga Bua will be your contact when claiming your credits.

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World and for your interest in Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters! This is a fun interactive game played throughout Black Spire Outpost using your MagicBand+. Even though I mainly cite Disneyland sources, the game is also offered at Disney's Hollywood Studios and is virtually identical. So if you've ever wanted to channel your inner Boba Fett or IG-88, This is The Way:

    1. Make sure your MagicBand+ is fully charged and you've downloaded the Play Disney Parks app. You might even want to have another energy source (phone charger) on hand, something less volatile than coaxium.
    2. When in Black Spire Outpost, open the Play Disney Parks app and select the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters game. Use the map to locate the Bounty Board.
    3. Scan your MagicBand+ at the Bounty Board to accept your first bounty. There will be a series of instructions.
    4. Next, locate your bounty! Your MagicBand+ acts as a beacon. As long as you are moving towards the target, it will flash green and vibrate faster as you get closer. If you move in the wrong direction, your MagicBand+ will turn red and vibrate in longer bursts. Try another direction.
    5. Bounties always hide behind doorways, so look for doorways throughout Black Spire Outpost with strange symbols on them and approach the panel next to the door. When you locate your bounty, your MagicBand+ will flash purple, indicating success. From here, you could actually just skip to step 8, but I think it's fun to see your target.
    6. Take out your phone and open Batuu Bounty Hunters in the Play Disney Parks app again. When prompted, tap your MagicBand+ to your phone to establish an NFC link.
    7. Use your phone's camera and the augmented reality feature to scan the doorway, then click to reveal your target!
    8. Return to the Guildmaster's Hideout and scan your MagicBand+ to claim your credits! To accept another bounty, repeat step 3.

There are 20 bounties in total and I've seen some extremely dedicated bounty hunters roll over the count multiple times! I think it's a very fun way to spend a couple of hours while on Batuu. If you need a personal energy source while hunting, I recommend the Cold Brew Black Caf at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. And be sure to give a nod to your fellow bounty hunters Din Djarin (Mando) and Boba Fett if you happen to see them!

Kelly, I hope I was able to give you enough details to begin your bounty hunting quest! The Guild looks forward to a long and prosperous relationship together. If you feel you need more information, please write back to me or my other guild members at planDisney at any time.

    May the Spires Keep You.

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
