Hi, we are visiting Disneyland in LA next week for two days with some little ones who want to see the fireworks show at 9pm. Is it OK to leave the park and re-enter later in the day? They will never last until 9pm :) Thanks!

Hi Marc! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

Yes, absolutely! While it is possible for the parks to temporarily close to additional Guests if they are at capacity, this is a very rare occurrence with the advent of theme park reservations. Since you have a valid admission ticket and a theme park reservation, you should have no problem leaving the park and entering later in the day except on possibly the busiest days of the year. You'll simply reenter through security and be scanned back into the park at the entrance by a helpful Cast Member.

Not only is it okay to do, but this is also the strategy we commonly use for our park days, and it was a must when our boys were preschoolers. Whether you're leaving for a quick nap or in the pool at the Disneyland Resort Hotel or a nearby Good Neighbor property, leaving for a little while in the afternoon to come back refreshed and ready for nighttime entertainment is a fantastic idea. We like to rest and then head back when it's time for one of our dining reservations.

Have you checked out the Daily Events Schedule for the days of your visit yet? While schedules are subject to change, this is a great starting point for planning your day. Just change the date at the top to your park day and filter to the park you will be visiting. You can pick out your must-dos and see what Attractions might be currently closed for refurbishment. And then play the rest by ear if you prefer!

    Have a magical time!
