Height for children to ride most roller coaster

Welcome, Julio. Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

The Happiest Place on Earth changes into the most thrilling place on Earth for kids when they are tall enough to ride thrill rides at the Disneyland theme parks. While there is plenty of fun for kids and adults of all ages and heights, Guests who are 40" (102 cm) or taller can ride some of the faster rides at the Disneyland Resort. At 40 inches, kids can ride Soarin' Around The World, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, and Radiator Springs Racer in Disney California Adventure Park. At Disneyland Park, Guests 40 inches or taller can ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance! At 42 inches tall, Guests can ride Goofy's Sky School and Matterhorn Bobsleds. And at 48 inches, they can tackle the Incredicoaster!

While 40 inches is the minimum height requirement to ride some of these big thrill rides, please keep in mind that if you have a kiddo on the taller side for their age they might not be emotionally ready to handle some of these. My oldest son was tall enough to ride Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! before age 3; however, we felt he might be too sensitive for some of the galactic creatures featured on the ride.

Julio, while you can reference the Disneyland Resort website for information on height requirements, the Disneyland Mobile App has a really easy way to search. From the home screen, click the Pin icon on the bottom left of the screen - this opens the Resort map. From here, tap "Filter" at the top left of the screen and then you can filter rides based on height, age, thrill factor, and more! You can even narrow the search to rides in just one of the parks. How cool is that?

I hope this information helps, Julio. Please visit us again if you have any other questions!

    See you in the parks,
    Melissa
