    Virtual queue magic kingdom

    Hello Carrie!

We’re so glad you stopped by planDisney ahead of tomorrow's visit to Walt Disney World Resort. I love that you have plans to visit Magic Kingdom Park, as it’s the one place I never miss. The nostalgia, the sounds, sights, and smells- perfection, if you ask me!

It sounds like you may have visited in the past few years when Virtual Queues were in place for select attractions and experiences. I remember waking up and refreshing my My Disney Experience app to try and secure a ride on TRON Lightcycle / Run or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT when they were newly open and only available through a virtual queue system.

Thankfully, those days are behind us, and standby queues are available for both attractions. You won’t have to worry about reserving a ride time to experience them, but you can purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for either (as well as other select experiences- up to 2 per day) to expedite your wait time. These passes are available for purchase 7 days before check/in for guests with eligible resort reservations and 3 days before the ticket start date for all other guests. Keep in mind that availability can get scooped up pretty quickly as these high-thrill attractions are very popular. It appears both are sold out for June 11 and 12, but there is availability for either on June 13, at least at the time of my writing.

While there are no Virtual Queues being utilized at this time, offerings are always subject to change. I recommend double-checking the My Disney Experience app ahead of your visit to see what's required. In my experience, there is usually a "Join Virtual Queue" button somewhere on the app home page when an experience requires one, but you can search "Virtual Queue" using the magnifying glass icon (second from right) on the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. I just did a quick test and spotted the option to "Join Virtual Queue," which confirmed no queues were available to join at this time.

Carrie, I hope this helped! If you have additional questions or need further clarification, please come right back and let us know. Wishing you a magical visit!

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
