My daughter (11) wants to ride TRON and she'd like to utilize the Lightning Lane. I want to accompany her through the line, but not get on the ride. Do we both need to purchase LL Single Pass, or can I purchase that just for her?

    Hey there, Emily!

I love that your daughter is excited to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run! It’s one of my boys’ favorite attractions at Magic Kingdom, and it’s easy to see why. The speed, the lights, and the overall experience make it such a thrilling ride. My boys always recommend trying to ride it at night if you can, because the outdoor portion feels even more incredible with everything glowing around you.

If you’re thinking about purchasing her a Lightning Lane Single Pass and you don’t plan to ride, the current policy is that since she’s old enough to ride on her own, you can walk her up to the tap point, but you wouldn’t be able to go through the queue with her and would need to meet her at the exit. If you feel she might not be comfortable riding solo, then you would need to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for yourself as well so you can go through the queue with her.

I know that may not be exactly what you were hoping for, but another option is to use the standby queue. That way, you can both wait in line together, and then simply meet her at the exit once she finishes the ride.

If you do plan on purchasing Lightning Lane passes, keep in mind that if you are staying at a Disney Resort, you can make your selections up to 7 days prior to your check-in date starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time right in your My Disney Experience app. If you are not staying on property, you will be able to purchase them 3 days prior to your park visit instead.

Emily, I hope this helps and you have the most magical trip! If any other questions pop up, you're always welcome to return to planDisney!

    Happy Planning,
