Welcome to planDisney, Art! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. I'm happy to chat with you about one of my favorite parts of a Disney World vacation: the food!
You'll be happy to know that
Animal Kingdom Lodge is a fantastic spot for
plant-based and vegetarian dining. You'll find flavorful, creative options at just about every restaurant at the resort. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a signature meal, there's always something tasty on the menu for vegetarian and plant-based eaters.
Let's start with
The Mara, the quick-service spot near the pool. It's a great place to grab a casual bite, and one of the highlights is the South African Vegetable Bowl, which is loaded with seasoned veggies and grains. Another fan favorite is the Fire-roasted Tomato and Herbed Ricotta Flatbread, which is hearty, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent.
If you're in the mood for a table-service experience, head over to
Sanaa at
Kidani Village. This one's a must-visit! Not only does it have incredible views of the savanna while you dine, but the food is top-notch. You can start with their Samosas, and then move on to the Zanzibari Vegetable Curry, which is spiced just right and totally satisfying.
For a more upscale signature dinner,
Jiko - The Cooking Place offers a beautiful ambiance and refined menu. A couple of great vegetarian options include the Injera Basket, with a mix of lentils and vegetables, and the Spiced Carrot Soup, which is rich, earthy, and delicious.
Keep an eye out for the little green leaf icon on menus! It marks plant-based options that are completely free of animal products. And, of course, if you're ever unsure or want to modify a dish, the Cast Members and chefs are always happy to help accommodate your dietary needs.
I hope this answers your question, Art, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
