Can I use a Vanilla Visa gift card to pay for part of hotel room cost and then another card?

    Hello there Sarah!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for sending us your question. We love to help guests with their Disney planning details. It looks like you'll be arriving in less than 2 weeks, how exciting!

I'm pleased to assure you that yes, you can use Visa Gift Cards as a form of payment at Walt Disney World. If you have booked a vacation package (Disney Resort plus theme park tickets) that balance was due 30 days prior to check-in. If you made a room-only reservation, that balance will be due on your check-in day. If your reservation is room-only, I would hold off on doing the online check-in. Once you arrive at your resort, swing by the front desk and present your gift card to use as partial payment. Please note, you will still be required to have a regular credit card on file. Any purchases you make during your vacation with your MagicBand or using MagicMobile will be charged to your room. This is another opportunity to use your Visa Gift Card! Again, just visit a Cast Member at your front desk any time prior to your check-out, and they can assist you with applying your gift card towards your room charge balance.

Did you know you can use the My Disney Experience app to see your room charges during your stay? This is handy feature to keep track of your spending. From the home screen, select the "≡" menu icon in the lower right corner, look for your Resort Hotel reservation, and then click on the "View Charges" tab.

I also love using this area of the app to check for bus wait times. This lets you know when the next bus to your destination park will show up... AND it's estimated arrival time at that park! This really helps take the guess work out of resort travel times, and let's you plan accordingly. Do I have enough time to go fill up my resort refillable mug, before my bus to Magic Kingdom arrives? Will we arrive in time for our first Lightning Lane pass... or should I log on and select a later arrival time? Do I need to get my kids to hustle, or can we leisurely stroll to the bus stop?! Check it out, I really love using this tool... I think you will, too.

Sending loads of pixie-dust your way to enjoy the best trip ever, Sarah! Please visit me again at planDisney, if I can help with any additional details before you arrive.

    See ya' real soon!
