Hey Anne, welcome back to planDisney!
I’m happy to hear you’re taking a big family vacation to Walt Disney World this summer! As parents to young kids, my husband and I love to make one special reservation for just the two of us, and we’re lucky enough to have family to watch the kids as we have our date night. I’m sure your family is equally thankful that you’re allowing them to enjoy time together.
You can call the number listed under “
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations” and make your request. If you booked all three rooms under the same reservation, your Disney Resort already knows you are traveling together. If each room was booked separately, you should take this time to let the Cast Member know that you are one travel party. I recommend having the other reservation numbers available when you make this call. The Disney Resort Cast Members will do their best to accommodate your request, however it is not guaranteed.
One thing you may want to consider is having date night a little earlier in the evening. Maybe you can take your grandson for a special dinner together, or
find an activity at the Resort your grandson will enjoy. Most Disney Resorts have an evening
campfire that includes marshmallow roasting. My son is a similar age and loves visiting the campfire. In fact, we roasted marshmallows multiple times on our most recent visit! The marshmallows are complimentary, but you can purchase the supplies to make a s’more for an additional fee.
I hope this helps, Anne. Enjoy your big family vacation and your special evening with your grandson. If you have any more questions, we’d love to help you here at
planDisney!
