Hi Nicholas!
The past year and a half has been decidedly stressful, hasn’t it? My family had three trips that had to be rescheduled. My big dream to take all of my kids to the
Disneyland Resort in California was one of those trips. (We are usually a
Walt Disney World Resort family.) While we are now rescheduled to visit Disneyland in November, since I’m dropping the oldest off at college tomorrow, he won’t get to join us in the park that Walt built.
If we’ve learned anything, we’ve all learned that life can be unpredictable. As a nurse during this pandemic, it has been a rollercoaster, and definitely not a magical Disney one. I am also worried that things may change and our trip may get canceled again. But unfortunately, even as a frequent Guest and Disney expert here on
planDisney, Mickey doesn’t tell me his plans in advance. Knowing how well Disney handles everything, while I don’t think they have active plans to close, I’m sure they have emergency plans in place should that become necessary.
When the parks and resorts closed in 2020,
Disney Vacation Club did refund Vacation Points to Members whose resort stays were canceled due to the closure. If something similar were to occur, I am hopeful this would be the case again. Ultimately, I don’t think any of us know what the state of affairs will be like in three months, so for now, we can only hope.
Be well, Nicholas! Hopefully, with faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust, we will both get to go on our November trips.
Wishing you
