Hey there, Wendy, and welcome to planDisney!
The countdown to your next, magical family adventure is officially on. Your tiny Mouseketeers will love exploring the theme parks with three of their favorite big Mouseketeers. It's my pleasure to share what you can expect when using
Rider Switch at Disney World.
This is a great question! Most Rider Switch situations tend to include an older kiddo riding an attraction twice (once with each parent or guardian). However, let's talk about how it works with multiple adults and no children who can ride--or want to ride.
First, you'll want to chat with a friendly Cast Member near the attraction's entrance to set up the Rider Switch service. Everyone who is riding (in either group) must be present for the set up. Once
MagicBands+ or theme park tickets are scanned, the first group will enter the standby queue. If your entire group has a
Lightning Lane, Group #1 will use the faster queue instead. When the first group is done riding, the rider who hasn't gotten a chance to go on yet will enter the Lightning Lane (regardless of if they have a Lightning Lane purchased and selected). I love that the first riding group doesn't have to wait for Group #2 for too long.
In your scenario, two adults will ride the attraction while the third adult waits with the little ones. Then one of the two initial adults will get to ride with Grandma, the third adult. The little ones will never be alone, one adult will ride twice, and no adult will go without experiencing the attraction. Everyone wins!
Wendy, I hope that your family vacay is practically perfect. While you're at Disney World, you should visit EPCOT for its
Festival of the Holidays! My kiddos love learning about various winter traditions from around the world and attending a celebrity-led
Candlelight Processional. If you have additional planning questions,

Magic always,
