We are coming to the parks with a 4 year old, we are planning to use RIDER SWITCH on the atracctions that offer the service, my questions is, DO WE NEED A LIGHTNING LANE TO USE THIS SERVICE? or can we use rider switch without having a multipass?

How ya doin', Silvia, and welcome to planDisney!

As a person who's traveled with my fair share of little Mouseketeers, I know that Rider Switch Service can be the unsung hero of a Disney vacation. Everyone who wants to ride those bigger attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will have a chance, while the smaller or more skittish among us can chill outside with a buddy.

I'm happy to report that you don't have to have Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass to take advantage of Rider Switch. This service is available to all guests, no matter their lane. Just tell the Cast Member at the entrance of the ride, and they'll be able to walk you through what to do.

Pro-tip: If you are planning to use Lightning Lane during your days at the park, everyone riding the attractions in question will need to have secured a Lightning Lane for themselves.

Silvia, have the most magical time on vacation. If you have any other questions, come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
