There are 5 of us.We will buy MPLL for all.If 1 sleeps in, the 4 go to park to use LL. Can we scan his card as if he’s there so we can schedule next LL? Does the ride scanner know he didn’t enter the park yet?He can use his MB when he decides to join.

    Hi Debbie!

Welcome to planDisney. It's great that you're already thinking about maximizing your Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchase for your upcoming visit. I haven't used the revamped system myself just yet, but I'm eager to test it out during my next trip.

When purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass, your initial 3 attractions must be the same for all members of your party. However, if you know one of your group members might prefer to sleep in, you should be able to modify their experience to a different time or attraction, subject to availability, after booking. I detailed the steps for another guest here.

Once you redeem one of the initial selections, you can book additional attraction return times one at a time through the remainder of the day. However, you will not be able to book additional selections as a group until all members of your party have redeemed one of the initial selections. The group in the parks is welcome to continue booking new experiences but your sleeping beauty will not be able to join those Lightning Lane parties. He would need to first scan his ticket or MagicBand+ to enter the parks and redeem one of the initial 3 selections. Unfortunately, you will not be able to do that without him present and you can not scan him into an attraction until he has entered the park.

When I travel with my family, my teens (who are always too tired to wake up for school) are somehow bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on our park days. The promise of Mickey waffles and thrilling attractions usually gets them out of bed without much fuss. If you are concerned that a member of your group is more of a night owl than an early bird, you can plan their first 3 attractions for later in the day. You might not get to experience every attraction together in that case, but hopefully, it won't spoil the fun.

I know this is not the answer you hoped for, Debbie but I'm wishing you a magical visit next month. If we can clarify any additional policies or procedures or offer more recommendations for your trip please don't hesitate to come back and let us know.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
