Welcome back to planDisney, Jim!
It’s always a delight to help a fellow
Disney Visa Premier Cardholder, especially when it comes to finding ways to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust onto your family’s Disneyland Resort vacations. My family also relies on this card to earn
Disney Rewards Dollars that help fund everything from churros on Main Street, to that must-have park merch that somehow always finds its way into my shopping bag.
The amount of Disney Rewards Dollars you’ll earn with your Disney Premier Visa Card depends on the type of purchase. Currently, the card offers 5% in Disney Rewards Dollars for eligible subscription purchases made directly with select video streaming services, including Disney+. If your house is anything like mine, that Disney+ subscription gets a workout with everything from classic Disney animated films to the latest adventures from a galaxy far, far away!
For everyday purchases, your Disney Premier Visa Card also earns 2% in Disney Rewards Dollars when you use it at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and most Disney locations throughout the United States. Whether you’re fueling up for a road trip to the parks or grabbing groceries for a Disney movie night at home, those dollars add up faster than you might expect. All other purchases on the card currently earn 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars, making it a handy way to earn while you spend.
When it comes to Disneyland Resort vacations specifically, using your Disney Premier Visa Card for theme park tickets, Vacation Packages, and even Lightning Lane Premier Passes will currently earn you 2% back in Disney Rewards Dollars. Of course, terms are always subject to change, so it’s a good idea to check the latest information before each trip.
Your Disney Rewards Dollars accumulate and become available for redemption on a monthly basis once they reach the required minimum amount. Typically, you’ll see those magical dollars , including any earned from Lightning Lane Premier Pass purchases , ready to be reloaded onto your Disney Rewards Redemption Card at the end of your billing cycle. It’s like a mini bonus waiting for you at the end of each month!
By the way, Jim, my fellow panelist Tony has
an excellent tip when it comes to using your Disney Rewards Redemption Card. He suggests adding your Disney Rewards Redemption Card number to the
Payment Methods section of your MyDisney account. That way, when you’re using Merchandise Mobile Checkout to snag that Spirit Jersey you’ve been eyeing, or Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering to grab a Dole Whip in Adventureland, you can easily select “Use a Different Payment Method” and apply your Disney Rewards Dollars. It’s a super convenient way to maximize your savings while keeping the magic flowing.
I hope this helps you earn and redeem even more Disney Rewards Dollars on your upcoming adventures, Jim! If any other questions pop up as you plan your visit, you know where to find us. We’re always here at planDisney, ready to help.
Wishing you a magical day filled with Disney dreams and delightful surprises!
