Welcome to planDisney, Luis,
I’ve found the
Disney Premier Visa and the
Disney Visa credit cards to be useful tools for saving a little extra on our family’s Disney Parks vacations. I’ve switched back and forth between the two types of cards depending on our upcoming vacation plans and financial goals.
The
amount of Disney Rewards Dollars I earn with each purchase using my Disney Visa card depends on the type of card and the type of purchase. With the Disney Visa Card, the card type that does not currently charge an annual fee to use, all purchases currently earn 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars. With the Disney Premier Visa Card, the card type that requires an annual fee, subscription purchases directly with select video streaming services, including
Disney+, currently earn 5% in Disney Rewards Dollars. That card type also currently earns 2% in Disney Rewards Dollars for purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and most Disney locations in the United States. All other purchases with that card currently earn 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars.
If you use a Disney Premier Visa Card to purchase
theme park tickets or a
Vacation Package at the Disneyland Resort, you will earn 2% in Disney Reward Dollars under the current terms. Regular Disney Visa Cards earn only 1% in Disney Reward Dollars, even when used for Disneyland Resort tickets. Terms are subject to change. Disney Rewards Dollars are accumulated and available to redeem in various ways on a monthly basis when they reach the required minimum amount. There may also be certain promotions offering statement credits and/or
Disney Gift Card eGifts for signing up for a new Disney Visa card. The amounts and terms may vary and may depend on consumer eligibility, purchase activity, and card type as well.
Tony’s Tip: I like to redeem our Disney Reward Dollars by transferring them to a Disney Rewards Redemption Card. I can store my Disney Rewards Redemption Card number in the
Payment Methods section of my Disney account. That way, it is easy to quickly choose that option by selecting “Use a Different Payment Method” when I check out using
Merchandise Mobile Checkout or
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering during our visits to the Disneyland Resort.
Happy saving, Luis. And have a magical time at The Happiest Place on Earth!
