    can i upgrade my grandsons pass to a higher one we purchased eariler this year it was the only one available for disneyland in california

    You've come to the right place, and I'm excited to be your planDisney pal to help you get your grandson's Magic Key pass upgraded! Check out the Magic Key Buying Guide and steps below and you'll be giving your grandson extra days of magic at the Disneyland Resort for the year:

    • Current Magic Key pass holders can upgrade to a higher tier (there are no downgrades) when Magic Key passes are available for sale to the public.
    • As of today, March 5, 2024, Magic Key passes have resumed sales so you can do an upgrade to an available Magic Key in the program. 
    • To upgrade a current pass, the pass holder will need to visit a ticket booth in the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
    • At this time, Magic Key upgrades cannot be done online or over the phone. You can view the terms here.
    • All upgrades will require the full difference paid at the time of upgrade, even if the current pass is on a monthly payment plan. For example, if the difference between the Believe and Inspire is $400, to upgrade from Believe to Inspire, you'd need to pay that upfront, even if you're still making payments on the Believe Key. 

    Well, Margaret, I hope that you're able to successfully upgrade your grandson while the Magic Key passes are still available. Reminder that this can only be done while the sale is active. Should the sale end before you upgrade, the only way you can change the pass type will be during the renewal window.
