I had to unfortunately cancel my Disney trip I didn't use a travel agent. I booked myself. I will be booking again in the new year but was wondering how long it takes for a refund.

Welcome to planDisney, Bonnie! I'm glad you stopped by, although I can't say I'm glad you had to cancel your trip to Disneyland Resort. But it sounds like you'll be rebooking soon, so that makes me happy again! Although Elsa and Anna sang that some things never change, we all know that sometimes vacation plans do. Now that you've canceled your current package let's see what you can expect regarding the timing of a refund.

I spoke to a friendly Cast Member who told me that funds are released as soon as a guest cancels their vacation package. From that point, he said it's up to your bank how quickly the refund gets processed. He said a refund could take anywhere from a week to two billing cycles, depending on where you were in your cycle when the request was made. Since Disney has already released the funds, he suggested you contact your credit card company for the status of your refund.

I hope you stop by planDisney when you start planning your new visit, Bonnie. If you're considering a trip for Spring 2024, check out the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. In addition to the delicious food at the festival kiosks, you can book dining seminars and tastings. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more details as those dates get closer.

Thanks again, Bonnie, and I hope to hear from you again

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
