Hi Morgan!
Welcome to planDisney! It's great to have you stop by! I'm excited to hear that you've planned a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort later this year. The holiday season is one of the most magical times of the year to visit!
With the return of
Annual Pass sales on April 20th, all Guests will have the chance to become Annual Passholders yet again! Even though you have a vacation package booked, which includes your Disney Resorts Hotel reservation and ticket package, you still have the option to upgrade your tickets to an Annual Pass. You can even do so without canceling your resort reservation. The easiest option is to
call the Walt Disney World Resort and speak to a Cast Member for assistance. They will be able to make this change over the phone and reset your park reservations for your stay later this year if needed. You should be able to call as early as 7 AM EST to speak with a Cast Member.
Your other option is to purchase an Annual Pass online when they become available. Once you make your purchase, you can then log on to your
My Disney Experience account and cancel the ticket portion of your vacation package. This will leave you with only your Disney Resorts Hotel reservation. You can then secure your park reservations again using your brand new Annual Pass. If for some reason you are unable to cancel your ticket package online, you can always call and speak to a Cast Member for help.
If you plan to become a Passholder, I suggest making your purchase on the day they are released. Annual Passes will be subject to availability, and judging by the number of Guests inquiring about new pass sales, there is a chance that they can sell out quickly on the first day.
Morgan, I hope this information helps you when the day arrives for Annual Passes to go on sale!
Stop back any time to planDisney with additional planning questions.
Have a magical day!
