My uncle bought me and my fiancé tickets to Disney world and he bought them through the military. We have the same last name but will i need to show his military ID to get into the park?

Hey howdy hey, Jamie! Thank you for visiting planDisney and your question!

Firstly, congratulations to you and your fiancé! Are you "ready to begin?". Visiting Walt Disney World Resort will be such a great way to celebrate your engagement, and there are a few fun things you can do to celebrate! But first, let's talk about your tickets! Thank you for your uncle's service! Two ticket types are offered to the military community: Disney Military Salute Tickets or discounted Magic Your Way tickets. The Salute tickets require the service member to "activate" the tickets upon arrival at Walt Disney World, at one of the four theme parks, or at Disney Springs using their military ID. If he purchased the Magic Your Way Tickets, you shouldn't have a problem entering the theme parks. These tickets are already considered "active" upon purchase. However, you will have to make Theme Park Reservations! Once you link your tickets on your My Disney Experience mobile app, make sure to make those reservations so you can enter the parks of your choice on the days you plan to visit!

Now, on to the fun extras to commemorate your engagement! Here are some fun ideas:

    • Stop by Guest Relations to pick up "Happily Ever After" buttons to wear during your visit!
    • Customized Ears: Stop by Curtain Call Collectibles at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and purchase a pair of Mickey Ears with embroidery!
    • Make a reservation for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties! There are three to choose from: Pre-Party, Post-Party, and Seats & Sweets! The Pre and Post Parties accommodate guests with a view of Happily Ever After fireworks in the Plaza Garden. Guests opting for the Seats & Sweets have seating at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant during the show. I highly recommend this Enchanting Extra! You won't be disappointed!

Jamie, I hope all of this information was useful today! Congratulations once again on your Happily Ever After. If you have other planning questions before your visit, send them to me. You've got a friend in me!
