I am unable to visit Disney and my tickets expire in a week. How do I transfer my OWN ticket to a family member? All of my tickets are unused. I understand I can transfer my family and friends tickets, but how do I transfer my own ticket?

    Hi Leslie,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney.  I'm so sorry to hear you haven't been able to make it to The Most Magical Place on Earth as planned, but I'm happy to help. Let's dive in!

You should be able to reassign your wholly unused tickets by following a few simple steps, as long as they were purchased a la carte and are not part of a room & ticket package. Head to your My Disney Experience App and select the three horizontal lines at the bottom right of your screen. Next, click the tile for "My Tickets & Passes" at the top left, locate the ticket assigned to you, and click "Reassign Ticket" below. You'll need to be connected to the person receiving your tickets via the Family & Friends list first, but once that's confirmed, simply select the recipient from your list and proceed through the prompts. Note that once the ticket is transferred to someone with another account, you will no longer have access to manage or change any details.

If you've followed the steps above but don't see the option to reassign your ticket, you'll need to contact a Cast Member by phone for further assistance. They can review the ticket details and determine if a technical issue or other reason is preventing the transfer.

I'd also like to mention that the amount paid for an unused, expired ticket may be applied towards the purchase of a new ticket of equal to or greater value. So even if you aren't able to visit on your original dates, you may be able to purchase new tickets using the value you've already paid.

I recommend speaking with a Cast Member first to better understand all your options before you make any changes. I don't have access to your account here, but they'll be more than happy to walk you through a few scenarios.

Leslie, please come back and see us again with more planning questions. We'll be ready to help just as soon as you're ready to visit.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
