How do you take an uber or Lyft from Grand Floridian to Disney’s Boardwalk. What location pickup and drop off do you give the driver? How do you go back and forth if starting from Disney’s Boardwalk to Grand Floridian?

Hey there Kelly, and a warm holiday welcome to planDisney!

From the looks of it, you’re already here at Walt Disney World Resort in the midst of a very busy holiday season and I’m hoping that this response makes its way to you in time! When it comes to making your way between Disney Resort Hotels, some guests choose to take advantage of scheduling rides between destinations to save time - especially if you don't want to miss all the special offerings to enjoy at this time of the year featured by planDisney on the Disney Parks Blog!

    • Thankfully, in either rideshare app you can typically just enter in the name of the Disney Resort Hotel location itself; for example at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's BoardWalk Inn the default locations where guests are picked up and dropped off are the porte-cochère entrances that lead right into their main lobbies. (In my personal experience, it can be just as easy as waiting in the lobby while requesting your ride, and most of the drivers found around Walt Disney World Resort are very familiar with taking guests between Disney Resort Hotels.)
    •  That said, during some of the most popular times of the year when parking spaces can be quite limited for guests staying at these locations, the Cast Members stationed at the security booths have been known to be strictly enforcing access only to guests who have reservations (whether dining or accommodations) that they can confirm. I've observed on more than one occasion a Cast Member denying access even when just getting dropped off, and while policies are always subject to change without prior notice it may ultimately be up to the discretion of the Cast Member and their leadership.
    • Guests have reportedly been unable to gain access with just a mobile food order from a Quick Service location and I've also personally experienced a security Cast Member explain that this is not enough to gain access and that they require an actual Table Service dining reservation at the very least. On other occasions however, some Cast Members have only requested that the rideshare driver show their identification before allowing entry so I hope that you don't encounter any difficulty with this during your visit!
Here's hoping your journey is safe and obstacle-free!
