I've tried to visit Disney Boardwalk to go for a walk and get ice cream. They guard at the entrance to the boardwalk hotel would not let us in unless we were staying at the hotel or had a dining reservation. Are people not allowed to just visit?

Welcome to planDisney, Nathan! How exciting that you're at Walt Disney World Resort. You sound like an adventurer who enjoys exploring, so you're among like-minded pals here at the panel. I had a similar experience recently, so let's talk about successfully exploring on your vacation.

Parking spaces are in high demand, especially at Disney Resort hotels. Spots are typically reserved for resort guests or those with dining reservations. On a recent trip, I hoped to meet friends at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, but the guard explained that we couldn't park without reservations. But hang on! Guests are welcome to stroll along Disney's BoardWalk; you just need to find an alternative way to arrive.

If you happen to be enjoying time at EPCOT, you can exit at the International Gateway and walk or hop aboard a FriendShip boat to the BoardWalk. You can also walk or take boat transportation from Disney's Hollywood Studios

Another way to travel to Disney's BoardWalk is to take the complimentary bus service from any theme park. Look for signs at the bus station for Disney's BoardWalk Resort, and you'll be enjoying the lake breeze and beachy shops in no time. My favorite sweet treats are at BoardWalk Ice Cream. Did you know the Vanilla Cyclone Milk Shake is plant-based? Yum!

Nathan, I'm so sorry your party was disappointed; I'm sending pixie dust and waffle cones hoping you'll try again. Disney magic, like adventure, is out there - sometimes, you have to try Plan B. Please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
