Hello, Emily, welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your question, it hits close to home as my family travels to
Walt Disney World with a child with a severe allergy as well. I certainly appreciate being proactive with your planning and think that you will find that Cast Members and Chefs will be patient and accommodating with any questions or requests you may have to ensure the health and safety of your daughter.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a list available ahead of time containing the foods and snacks that are red dye-free. But rest assured, guests that have
Special Dietary Requests should contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com, no sooner than 14 days before your arrival, so the Special Diets team can assist you.
It is also important to know that you are free to bring food into Walt Disney World theme parks, the only restriction being that they cannot be in glass containers and that Cast Members cannot assist with storing or reheating items brought to the parks by guests.
In my experience, we always check with the Cast Member for the list of ingredients for the items on the menu before placing our order. The Cast Member will look through a binder to locate the food item you’re considering and then review the ingredients used. Typically, at most table-service restaurants, the chef will visit the table to review your allergy with you and will make every attempt to modify something on the menu to make it allergy-free specifically for your little one!
I hope this helps you and your little one, Emily. Please feel free to
contact me directly if you have any follow-up questions or want more recommendations.
Cheers,
Brent
